Naeem Mohaiemen and Vincent Meessen: screening and discussion

Join us for a screening of two films about the cul-de-sac of unreliable memory: A Missing Can of Film (2025) by Naeem Mohaiemen and Ultramarine (2018) by Vincent Meessen. The screening will be followed by an in-person conversation with both artists. These two projects are twinned by a shared obsession with the unraveling of the decolonial wave of the late 1960s, the promise of 1968 undone by the friction of realpolitik. Testing, testing

Join us for “Testing, testing”, co-presented by the Vera List Center for Art and Politics. The program brings together artistic and filmic examinations of intelligence testing from historical and archival perspectives, attentive to their ongoing effects in the present and their entanglement with artificial intelligence. Across the program, intelligence emerges as a performative system—one that measures minds, choreographs bodies, and dictates their position in space and in relation to one another. Historical documents, diagnostic forms, and built environments are treated as mutable scores, revealing how intelligence has been measured, rehearsed, and encoded over time, from racial and bureaucratic regimes to contemporary computational logics. Participants include Coleman Collins, Sandra Erbacher, and Ruth Estévez, who are joined in conversation with co-curator Abirami Logendran. The program is curated by Eriola Pira in collaboration with Abirami Logendran as part of Vera List Center’s 2025–2027 Focus Theme, “Matter of Intelligence”. Read more here.

RAW Académie: The Visions and Images of Koyo Kouoh

Organized with the support of RAW Material Company, this African Film Institute program is dedicated to the memory of the late Cameroonian-Swiss curator Koyo Kouoh and reflects on her far-reaching contributions to new ways of learning, memory, and commemoration. In particular, the evening engages Kouoh’s pedagogical project RAW Académie, the experimental program for the research and study of artistic and curatorial practice and thought developed within RAW Material Company, the center for art, knowledge and society that Kouoh founded in Dakar in 2008. Screening of film by Noor Abed, Mustafa Emin Büyükcoşkun, Rehema Chachage, Lina Laraki, Hira Nabi, Shirin Sabahi, Sanaz Sohrabi, Tako Taal and Éric Baudelaire. Followed by a discussion. Art & Ideas: Curatorial Research Today

This event marks the launch of the Art & Ideas Archive, a collaborative research platform conceived together by e-flux and KADIST that places ideas from e-flux Journal in conversation with works in KADIST's collection. For the launch of this new platform, this conversation at e-flux will reflect on the movement of ideas between artistic practice, exhibition making, and writing to consider how these different forms of work contribute to the shared intellectual field of contemporary art. The event will be introduced by Anton Vidokle (e-flux) and Vincent Worms (KADIST), who will describe the theoretical basis and functionality of the Art & Ideas Archive. Following this introduction, the conversation on the nature of artistic and curatorial research today will feature Lauren Cornell, Trevor Paglen, and KJ Abudu. Read more here.

Moving-Image Works by Rabih Mroué

Bringing together selected works made between 2002 and 2020, this program offers an overview of Rabih Mroué's moving-image practice, which examines the relation between images, personal memory, and political history. Situated across theater, video, and performance, these works move between family testimony, wartime images, and essayistic reflection, attending to the unstable status of documents, voices, and recorded events.
