Research Group Arts Education at Amsterdam University of the Arts

The Research Group Arts Education is the interfaculty research group of the Amsterdam University of the Arts. This Research Group is headed by Emiel Heijnen and Melissa Bremmer.

In the Research Group Arts Education practice-oriented research is carried out based on the research questions from the different teacher training courses of the Amsterdam University of the Arts. In order to bring together and focus this research, two themes have been chosen that are relevant and pressing within arts education, both in the school and extra-curricular setting: interdisciplinarity (between different arts disciplines as well as the arts and non-arts disciplines) and social engagement.
