Bangkok Art Biennale

Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) is a contemporary art festival spanning different venues of Bangkok, from the historical temples and heritage spaces to the museums and white cube galleries, all easily accessible and free of entry. The Biennale aims to create a memorable art and creative experience, establish Bangkok as a leading contemporary art destination in Southeast Asia by showcasing leading and emerging talent, both local and international, and support the wider art scene and art ecosystem in Thailand. To build a strong appreciation and understanding of the arts in the community, BAB is also accompanied by a rich program of educational events and projects, conferences, artist talks, hands-on workshops for children and adults, guided visits, publications, online programs and more.

This project aims to boost creative economy, cultural exchange, offer more opportunities for diversity and accessibility of the arts, benefit Thai education and cultural exchange, as well as create awareness of the pressing issues and ways to solve them, such as migration and refugee crises, wars, social inequality, environmental disasters and so on.

Bangkok Art Biennale was organized with the support of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), as well as corporate sectors, including ThaiBev as a lead sponsor, to enhance the potential of Thai artists and Bangkok as a hub for communication and transportation by bringing a major contemporary art festival with renowned artists for Thai people to enjoy world-class art at home, as well as raise awareness on various socio-political and environmental issues and provide a major platform for an open discussion.
