The Kunstraum München is an art association in Munich and a platform for young contemporary art. The focus lies on the exhibition of works by international and regional artists and the publication of accompanying catalogues and editions.
Since its founding in 1973, exhibitions have featured the work of Agnes Martin and Richard Tuttle (1973), Hans Peter Feldmann (1975), Franz Erhard Walther (1976, 1982, 2010), Joseph Beuys (1981), Olaf Metzel (1982, 1990, 2002, 2023) as well as Hanne Darboven (1988), Gustav Metzger (1997, 1999, 2006, 2022), and Rosemarie Trockel (1991), among many others. Since the 1990s, the programmatic focus has shifted towards thematic group shows and socio-political topics.
The program is curated by an honorary board including Emily Barsi, Dr. Patricia Drück, Lena von Geyso (Chairwoman), Nina Holm, Ralf Homann, Dr. Luise Horn, Lennart Laule (Treasurer) and Alexander Steig (Vice Chairman).
