Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto

Located within the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), the Center for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism (CEAU) operates from specialized facilities designed for advanced research endeavors in architecture and urban planning.

CEAU’s mission is to nurture artistic, scientific, technological, and interdisciplinary research, drawing from fields such as Art, Engineering, Geography, History, Philosophy, and Social and Human Sciences. This holistic approach encompasses architecture, construction, design, urban planning, and related disciplines, aligning closely with the teaching and project methodologies of the School of Porto.

While Architecture and Urbanism serve as the primary research focus of CEAU, the center actively embraces researchers from a wide array of backgrounds, including Anthropology, Archeology, Economics, Engineering, Geography, History, and Sociology.
